M & M Painting Finished

"Plain M&M's", 6"x6", Oil on Board

Yes, I finally finished this! I was getting ready to take it outside for a photo and had to stop because it's snowing. What else is new? I'm actually pleased with how this painting turned out. My favorite part of the painting is the section inside of the candy wrapper with the M & M's tucked neatly inside. You can also get a sense of the light coming through the wrapper there as well. Please let me know what you think!

Yeah for you Jean!!!!! It is done... and you must be feeling a bit better! I think your painting is wonderful. I agree that the inside of the package is great, but I love the beautiful colors under the individual m & m's. There is such beauty in the shadows - you've done a great job. Congratulations!

Thanks Joanne! Yes, I'm feeling so much better and I've been so excited to be able to paint again. I feel like my painting has improved since I began with oils back in the summer but I know that I still have a ways to go before I'll be satisfied with my work. You have a good eye because I didn't think anyone would notice those little flecks of color in those shadows.

Hi Jean

I just saw your comments on my blog so I decided to check yours out too. I really like your style. I know it's realism but it has a bright and colorful look that reflects your personality.

Bravo

Hi Jean, I was just checking out artists blogs and your m&m's caught my attention, may I say I ‘m always looking for something unique to paint and I just love m&m's what and great choice of subject matter. For me I like the way you handled the edges of the torn wrapper and the reflective color of the yellow, orange and blue m&m's on the ground. The yellow m&m reflecting in the blue one is very nice also. Great job!
