I Love Cherries

"Cherries in Silver Bowl", 6"x6", Oil on Board
I came quite close to finishing this yesterday; however, I was too exhausted so I ended up finishing it this morning. I'm quite happy with how the painting turned out but the detail is really more incredible in the original. This photo was as close as I could come to the original painting. I also re-painted the background on the Vintage Hamilton Beach Mixer and it came out much better. I've re-photographed that painting and re-posted it below. I'm much happier with the mixer painting now. Let me know what you think!

Jean,

This is a beeeautiiiiful painting. The cherries are superb, I love the dark of the background and the colors in shadow of the silver bowl. I have never attempted the reflective surface of something like silverware... I can imagine it takes quite a bit of thought and planning. I am sure the buyer of this painting will enjoy it for years and years!

Alex, thanks so much...I love your work. Joanne, thanks a lot...painting reflective surfaces are not as hard as you think. I just break down the shapes within the item and try to paint color notes instead of worrying about painting a reflective surface. You can do it too!!
