Candy Fix

"230 Calories", 6"x6", Oil on Board
I haven't painted any candy still lifes in awhile so I decided to paint my favorite, Reese's peanut butter cups. I'm quite happy with how it turned out and only wish my camera did the painting justice because there are some really delicate areas in the painting. I couldn't think of a title when I finished this and then I remembered that everytime I eat these I end up thinking of the additional calories that I'm racking up for the day. Pure Guilt! Anyone up for a snack?

Thanks Todd! I was happy with how they turned out.

Jean, I think the company that produces Reeses's Pieces should hire you to paint their product for advertising... the packaging is just amazing. I also like the treatment of the background - a nice delicate balance to the solid look of the chocolate. YUM!

Hi Joanne,
Thanks, I worked hard on the packaging and I like the opening of the wrapper the most. How have you been this summer?

It is funny that you should ask how I have been, Jean. I am actually waiting for a surgery date, which will be within the next 2 weeks, so I will be out of commission for bit. However, I am anticipating a quick and complete recovery of 2 - 3 weeks, and will want to see that new painting of luscious fruit and beautiful fabric when I next check your site! Have fun painting it, Jean!
