Teapot Finished

"Children's Teapot", 10" x 10", Oil on Board
I finally got the chance to finish my teapot painting yesterday. I'm sorry it took so long to get this finished but I haven't been painting much lately because I have been dealing with a lot of personal problems. I'm actually pleased with how this piece turned out considering the level of difficulty I was presented with. For my artist pick of the week, take a look at Jeffrey T. Larson's work. This man paints beautiful still lifes!

Ahhh, Jean! You are such a good artist - it is always a pleasure to see your finished pieces, no matter how long they take. This one is beautiful - and especially so because of the level of difficulty. You are an inspiration. Hope your personal troubles are resolved soon.

Joanne,
Thanks, it's good to hear from you. I feel like I picked a subject that might have been too difficult, but I did like the challenge. I can't wait to see more of your watercolors. Take care of yourself.

Beautiful Jean- angle of the handle,
unwrapping effect of the draped fabric(teapot looks like a gift), fresh blue dominance... an elegant piece!

Hi Pierre,
Thank you! I actually struggled with this piece so I'm kind of glad it's finished. When I was painting it, I kept thinking I had picked something too difficult. At any rate, it's finished now and it goes with my other "vintage" paintings. Have you done any painting lately or are you still working with graphite?

Beautifully done! I seems that through trying times, you attain more confidence in your art. I suspect that it also resounds in your life.

Hi Alvin,
It's good to hear from you...it's been awhile. Yes, I've been going through a lot lately. I don't know if that helps me or not. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the compliment. This was a difficult piece for me.

Hi Jean,

I've been following the progress of your teapot and it the final product is just stunning.
(I keep looking at the penguin-shaped shiny metal coffee pot on my counter and thinking, dare I try...?)
Thanks for your recent visits to my humble blog and thanks again for keeping the art bar raised so high.

Hi R.
Thanks for taking the time to look. I think your coffee pot would be a great challenge. Imagine what a still life it would be if you added your checkered, black and white fabric to the arrangement...tough! It's always good to hear from you...take care.

Black and white checks reflected in curved metallic objects-- I sense a challenge put forth! Maybe after the current show prep I'll give it a go. Thanks!
